Saint Andrew's Swim School has evolved from the Seacats Swim School which has been successfully teaching swimming since 1994.  Kara Keenan Cassidy continues to develop the Seacats method of teaching, which began after consulting with aquatics pioneer Laurie Lawrence of Australia in the early 1990's. Kara was able to combine the knowledge she learned with extensive research and refined her style by practicing with her own children. Both Quinn, currently age 9, and Kate, now 6, were able to swim freely by the age of 18 months.

Kara was a most successful age group coach at the Atlantic City Aquatic Club, the USA team she and her husband began in 1998 and turned over following the summer of 2005 as Junior Olympic Boys Team Champs and Runners-up overall in the Middle Atlantic Association of USA Swimming. She has turned many novice swimmers into champions and was named as an Eastern Zone All-Star Coach for Middle Atlantic Swimming in 2004 and 2005.

If a student cannot make a scheduled lesson, he must contact Director Kara Cassidy at least four hours prior to the lesson. If adequate notice is given, students will be eligible to schedule a make-up lesson.

During the lesson, parents are allowed to observe the lesson. However, there is no talking or motioning to the child during the lesson by the parent or guardian.

All Saint Andrew's Swim School teachers have been trained with the Seacats method for teaching.  They are certified in CPR and First Aid, as well as Life guarding.  Saint Andrew's Swim School teachers aim to improve the safety of all students by teaching them to swim in a nurturing and reliable manner to ensure self-confidence in the water.
